Overnight at Darjeeling
Early morning wake up call for an excursion to Tiger Hill. Tiger Hill is considered the best place to enjoy sunrise in Darjeeling. Located at an elevation of 7,407 feet above sea level it offers unparalleled view of snow-capped peaks of the Kanchenjunga range of mountains alongside Everest and K2 at the miniature end. As the sun rises over the mountain range the shining rays of the sun soothing the ambience of the hill makes one forget all concerns of the world.
Ghoom Monastery or Yiga Choling Monastery built around the 18th century by a Mongolian Monk travelling in the region. It is famous for its Maitreya Buddha Statue the “Buddha of Future” worshipped in anticipation with belief for The Maitreya Buddha to be reborn and enlighten mankind as religiously predicted in the holy scriptures of Buddhism. The Monastery holds ceremonies during certain auspicious day of the Tibetan calendar during which period we can light prayer lamps to transcend the Buddhist way to Nirvana and Enlightenment.
While going back to Darjeeling enroute pass by Batasia Loop through which the toy train passes in a spiral loop like pattern to lower gradient of the ascend covering altitudinal difference in the gradient of the hill. Location of the loop offers a 360 degree view of Darjeeling’s picture perfect landscape.
After breakfast enjoy joy ride on the Steam Engine UNESCO Heritage toy train up to Ghoom and back covering about 16 kms. Experience century old culture of travelling on the steam engine, sounds of whistle piercing through silent hillside with charcoal smoke huffing and puffing the engine though not be faster but assuring a smooth ride. Through windows of the Toy train we can witness different faces of snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kanchenjunga exceeding in all fascination alongside window shopping from the toy train by shop keepers facilitating passengers to buy souvenirs adding flavour to the fun.

Overnight stay at Darjeeling
Visit with Stay in one of oldest Tea Estates of the region. The Ging Tea Estate Bunglow was established around 1864, one of foremost Tea House Bungalow in the region during the colonial period. The estate itself spread across 250 hectares about 650 acres ranging in-between an altitude of 650 mtr to 1500 mtrs.
The bunglow is a Victorian style country house reinstated into its Victorian charm of the colonial era set amidst verdant hills, green valleys and other scenic vistas to add to the charm. To set the wheel rolling courteous staffs, delicious food, picturesque views of the distant mountains, certain calmness and lush green tea bushes all adding up to the beauty of the heritage & deep rooted culture of tea life reflecting on the colonial nostalgia.

After breakfast full day tour, hiking through marked trails visiting primary plantations and witnessing processing of world famous Darjeeling Tea with tea tasting session to finish off the day.
Just as wine, tea tasting follows a very precise ritual, the object of which is to highlight the best qualities and defects of tea and often to compare the different batches produced from the same harvest. The taster’s glossary that follows list the vocabulary used by tasters and allows the sensation felt during the drinking of tea to be described with different technical terms:
“Aromatic” that is said of a liqueur that is strong and high in flavour.
“Biting” this denotes a tea which is both astringent and sour and that leaves a strong and lasting impression.
“Body” characteristic of a beverage that carries a good constitution with warm aromas’
“Frank” this denotes tea whose characteristics (colour, scent, flavour, aromas….) are well defined and express themselves unfailingly and without ambiguity.
In grading of tea the finest crop composed of final bud with following two leaves known as the Orange flowery pekoe. The term “orange” comes from the name of the Dutch Dynasty Orange Nassau and word Pekoe comes from Chinese word Pak ho meaning “fine hair” or “down” and denotes the end bud, which gives an impression of white down.

Overnight at the Bunglow
After a good breakfast start drive towards Sikkim. Passing through lush green forest and undulating hills to crisscrossed valleys forming lower ranges of the Himalayas. The river Teesta flowing side by side, which is the 4th largest Trans boundary river shared between Bengal and Bangladesh after Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna River. We arrive at Rangpo in East Sikkim the border between Sikkim and Bengal. After a brief formality stoppage at the border we commence drive to Martam.
Upon arrival at Martam check in at the Resort.
Late noon foot loose walk on the terraced paddy fields or sit in the balcony to enjoy the freshness of nature within the comfort of the Resort or even the absolute silence of the place is heart touching.

Stay and overnight at Gangtok
After breakfast visit to Rumtek Monastery, the Seat of His Holiness the 16th Karmappa who heads Kargyu School of Tibetan Buddhist Order. After his exile from Tibet, His Holiness Karmappa made Rumtek the main seat of Kargyupa School, original being Tshurpu Monastery in Tibet. In the 1980’s Rumtek Monastery was declared as the Dharma Chakra Centre for Tibetan Buddhism, right after Nalanda University for learning higher Buddhism was started. The sight of monks dressed in their gowns flooding the premise of the monastery provides a spirit touching experience. After visiting the main prayers hall we then visit Golden Stupa which contains relic remains of the 16th Karmappa who attained parnivana in the early 1980s.
After hike into the Fabongla Wildlife Sanctury which falls at the junction of Palearctic realm and Indomalayan realm, supporting a large variety of mammalian and avian fauna. While nature hike watching birds and butterflies and if lucky one may even spot Red Panda in the wilderness and other animals such as civet, pheasants and barking deer. The Forest include sub-alpine rhododendron forest and houses 740 species of flowers
Evening peace and relaxation.
Stay overnight at Gangtok
After breakfast continue drive enjoying tropical landscapes of the hills with Teesta River running side by side. Passing through stretch of forest at Sevoke and driving on the outskirts of Siliguri we finally arrive Bagdogra airport or NJP Station. On reaching the Airport, carry on with your onward journey.
